But these trains unfortunately attracted the worst sort of thieves and robbers who were constantly marauding the trains and sabotaging the free movement of rail traffic. |
Whispering Smith was McCloud's close friend and a much needed railroad right-of-way man in name, but his most valuable contribution came as President Bucks's main troubleshooter up and down the Northern Division.
