Welcome to Whispering Smith
It took rugged men to continually move and expand the railroads to the western part of America. Many and varied workers required strong and knowledgeable supervisors and engineers such as McCloud.
But these trains unfortunately attracted the worst sort of thieves and robbers who were constantly marauding the trains and sabotaging the free movement of rail traffic. |
Whispering Smith was McCloud's close friend and a much needed railroad right-of-way man in name, but his most valuable contribution came as President Bucks's main troubleshooter up and down the Northern Division.
Smith was quiet, but dangerous - and all men knew this. And unknown to most everyone, Whispering Smith was also overseeing the safety of his childhood sweetheart. |
